European Week of Languages
Barnhill recently celebrated the European Day of Languages, highlighting the rich diversity and multiculturalism that shape our continent.
In assemblies, we emphasised the importance of Europe's multilingual and multicultural identity, exploring how both European and non-European communities have influenced British society. Students learnt about the creation of new English dialects, such as Multicultural London English (MLE), which reflects this vibrant blend of cultures.
Our Sixth Formers played a key role in the celebrations, leading a Language Fair where they showcased global languages, international music, and diverse cuisines. It was a wonderful week dedicated to celebrating the beauty of multilingualism and cultural diversity!
