Budding Scientists Club Together

As we approach the end of the academic year, our Key Stage 3 scientists have engaged in creative projects, group presentations, and educational board games. The board games promoted collaboration, enquiry, and critical thinking. Students were able to retrieve information from their long-term memory on the topic 'Conduction, convection, and radiation - The transfer of heat'. 

Nacima A (Year 7): ''I liked the board game, it was a brilliant, fun activity that kept us all engaged." 

Azaan K (Year 8): "I got most of the answers correct. The game was about what we've learned in class. The only question I was stuck on was the question on Radiation. I now know that radiation does not need a medium to transmit heat.''

Ilham I (Year 8): "The Heart rate investigation was great, it was interesting to see that heart rate can be affected by different types of music, rap music had the highest heart rate''. 

Eva J (Year 8): ''We have recently learned about the transfer of heat in Ms Qaisar's lesson. We have used different insulating materials such as wool, fabrics, plastics, and polystyrene to prevent heat loss from the house''. 

Mrs S. Mohobuth: ''By using games that support the curriculum, teachers have given students opportunities to experience play, while at the same time promoting student achievement.''
