The textiles department was re-introduced this academic year and saw some really outstanding and amazing budding young future designers come to the fore.
Students from Year 9 and 10 took part in a building construction workshop organised by Build Training Centre in Hayes.
It was a great event and allowed students to try their hand at construction work and consider its merits as a career choice. Students rotated around different workshops including bricklaying, plumbing, electrical and tiling.
Brandon, Y11, represented everything that Build epitomises. As a year-long student looking to take his learning further into post 16, he helped students to understand the benefits of vocational learning.
Thank you to Mrs Martinecvic for organising the opportunity and to the staff from Build Training Centre Hayes.
Selected Year 7 and 8 students represented Barnhill in a borough-wide sports event held at Brunel University on Monday 12th June. Students had to work together to earn points for their school competing against a number of other secondary schools in the Borough.
Following exceptional performances in all the activities, our students were the overall winners upholding all of our vales of community, respect, wisdom, aspiration. Each student received a gold medal, certificate and the team were awarded a trophy.
Well done to the students who participated, Frankie, Ollie, Djibril, George, Natasha, Sara, Ryan and to Brandon who helped with the support.
Students amazing day and arrived back to school very excited to show their gold medals.
Thanks also to Mr Gardener and Mrs Hughes for organising and cheering them on.
Mr Khan took a group of students to the famous Lords cricket ground to watch the Inter Services T20 cricket match on 10th May. Anika, Y9, shared her experience.
Our talented students have achieved remarkable success in the “Languages Local to You 2023” photo competition and exhibition, organised by the University of Essex. This incredible event celebrating diversity has been a fantastic platform for schools across the UK to showcase their creative talents. Our students from Barnhill have truly left their mark.
