Exceptional GCSE results

A superb day for celebration

Students, families and staff all celebrated more superb results at Barnhill.  The school continues to improve and this is due to the hard work of students, staff and the support of families.

31% of all grades were grades 7, 8 and 9.  68% of students achieved a grade 5+ ‘strong pass’ in English and maths.  Our top 20 students achieved the equivalent of 10 Grade 8s (A*s in old grades) and higher.

Head teacher Mr Jones said: "It’s been an exceptional day for the students, families, and staff at Barnhill. While the national trend continues to fall, Barnhill continues to rise. It was wonderful to witness our students opening their results envelopes and seeing them secure places at the sixth form and bright futures.

We are incredibly proud of all our students, many of whom have overcome significant challenges to succeed. I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the achievements of some of our top-performing students who attained the highest grades."
